At first, convenience stores were just useful.
Then they became familiar.
Late-night ramen.
Morning coffee.
Quick snacks before the subway.
Eventually, I started recognizing workers at the same GS25 near my apartment.
One cashier even remembered which banana milk I usually bought.
That small recognition felt comforting in a foreign country.
Korean convenience stores are open almost everywhere, all the time.
But what surprised me most wasn’t convenience.
It was consistency.
No matter how stressful the day felt, the bright lights and quiet atmosphere somehow felt reliable.
