I thought opening a bank account would take only a few minutes.
Instead, I discovered that different banks had different requirements.
Some branches wanted an ARC card.
Others asked for proof of employment.
A few even had limited English support.

Research foreigner-friendly bank branches.
Bring your passport, ARC card, employment contract, and local address.

Be patient.
The process becomes much easier once you have your ARC card.
